New Nikon COOLPIX S800c Features Android Operating System
Today, Nikon announced a new camera that I’m confident baby boomer travelers are going to love.
When we’re traveling, I shoot the bulk of our photographs on a Nikon D7000. For those quick shots that I want to share through our social media channels, my trusty iPhone is always available in my pocket.
However, I am often frustrated with the quality of photograph that my iPhone can deliver. Oh, it does a fine job for many situations, but throw a bit of complicated lighting its way, and I find myself with a photograph that doesn’t meet my high standards. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve longed for a high quality digital camera that is Wi-Fi connected.
Me thinks the new Nikon COOLPIX S800c just might be the solution to my problem.
The new S800c answers the call for users who need the ability to capture photos and HD video with amazing clarity and color, yet offers a familiar portal to connect to social networks and popular imaging applications through a Wi-Fi connection.
Features of the Nikon COOLPIX S800c:
- Nikon quality photographs captured with the 10x NIKKOR zoon lens and a 16-megapixel CMOS sensor. This gives the user a lens that will cover from wide-angle 25-250mm. The perfect travel lens. Also, the camera can handle low-light situations with ISO sensitivity from 125-3200. Yeah! No more super grainy photographs in low-light!
- Wi-Fi connectivity through an on-board Android Operating System.
- Full HD Video
- Built in GPS. I like this. I’m constantly trying to hunt down my location when I’m shooting with my D7000.
- It’s available in September 2012, and will be selling for a suggested retail price of $349.95.
Although I don’t really want to carry around another piece of equipment, this camera will fill a huge void in our production flow.
And, for our baby boomer fans who really don’t need a $1,000+ DSLR, I think this will make the perfect travel camera. It’s compact, shoots great photographs, and can instantly share your photographs on Facebook if there’s a Wi-Fi connection available.
Who wants one? We do! We do! 🙂
