Check-In: La Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort
For the second time, we’re fortunate to be staying at the La Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort in La Quinta, California, just south of Palm Springs.
We stayed here nearly four years ago (article link) as we made our way to the California Coast for a 10-day road trip. This time, we’re here for a weekend travel conference.
The legendary La Quinta Resort & Club opened in 1926 as a desert retreat for Hollywood’s elite and has played host to world-famous politicians, renowned artists, celebrated athletes and international dignitaries.
Set amidst 45 acres of citrus trees and towering palms and framed by the rugged Santa Rosa Mountains, the resort features spacious Spanish-style casitas, suites and villas clustered around 41 pools. Together with PGA WEST, the resort offers five unique golf courses designed by legends Nicklaus, Dye and Norman. Also available: Spa La Quinta, 23 tennis courts, seven restaurants and seasonal live outdoor musical entertainment.
Located just south of Palm Springs, California, we find the La Quinta Resort & Club to be a perfect getaway location with all of the perks, restaurants, world-class golf, and nearby sightseeing spots to keep the discriminating luxury traveler very content for days on end.
The resort features 620 guest rooms, as well as 98 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom villas with a Spanish hacienda design and desert decor clustered around 41 pools and 53 hot spas and offer views of colorful grounds or the Santa Rosa Mountains. Each room is approximately 450 sq. ft. Some suites and villas offer 2 and 3 bedrooms, kitchenette, living & dining rooms, patios, private pool & hot tub.
If you’re looking for a luxury desert oasis hideaway for a little fun and R&R, we can confidently recommend the La Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort to you.
The resort is located 4 hours west of Scottsdale, and 2 hours east of Los Angeles.
