Election 2012: Why We’re Thankful to be Americans
It’s now two days past our national election, and the will of the people has been spoken and we find that President Barack Obama has been reelected for a second four-year term.
This has roughly half of the people in our great nation giddy with a child-like glee, while the other half seemingly mourns under the loss handed to their candidate.
Regardless of which camp you find yourself in this morning, strongly consider this statement found on the Internet from a Chinese citizen:
“Warm congratulations to the American people. Under the wise leadership of the Party Central Committee headed by the wise and brilliant Obama, you have crushed the attempted usurping of power by the counter revolutionary group led by Mitt Romney.”
Wow! Let that sink in for a moment.
Our political system certainly isn’t perfect, but thank God that we’re free, be it right or wrong, to make a choice.
Can I get an “amen” on that one?
