Hotel Fouquet’s Barriére: 5-Star Luxury in the Heart of Paris

The Hotel Fouquet’s Barriére offers luxury travelers one of the best locations in all of Paris. Plus, when you stack up all of the other fabulous amenities available in and around the hotel, its no wonder that this is a very popular destination for the luxury crowd.
When Carol and I are considering luxury hotels to visit and share with our audience, one of the top considerations is the hotel’s location.
For those of you who might not be familiar with Paris, the Golden Triangle is the most famous area of Paris for shopping, dining, and taking a stroll along beautifully manicured tree-lined streets. The area is bounded by the world-famous Champs-Élysées, George V, and Montaigne.
The Hotel Fouquet’s Barriére sits on the corner of Champs-Élysées and George V. You can’t get a better location than that!
The Arc de Triomphe is two blocks away, and the flagship store for Louis Vuitton is right across the street.
Hotel Fouquet’s Barriére was born in the fall of 2006. In 1998, the hotel owners bought the Fouquet’s restaurant, a French luxury brasserie that was famous with those in the world of cinema, and over the next 8 years bought and developed surrounding real estate that would eventually tie together five buildings into one glorious luxury hotel.
The Hotel Fouquet’s Barriére offers guests 81 rooms, including 33 suites, and boasts some of the largest entry level rooms in all of Paris at nearly 400 sq. ft.
We were traveling with a small group of six, so we all enjoyed the “superior rooms”, but for a few more shekels/night, one can have a slightly larger room that offers unrivaled views of the Champs-Élysées! Or, if you’re planning to spend more time in the hotel that we had available, you might enjoy one of the 33 larger suites.

When you approach the Hotel Fouquet’s Barriére, you are greeted by a formal looking doorman, but when you walk through the front door, you’ll immediately notice a funky fusion of baroque, surrealism, classicism, with a lively dash of art deco.
Here are a few photographs to give you a delightful little taste of this fun hotel…
Bars and Restaurants
When it comes to bars and restaurants, the Hotel Fouquet’s Barriére has a lot to offer. First off, you have five restaurants to choose from:
- Le Fouquet’s – the legendary brasserie located right on the Champ-Élysées serving traditional French cuisine.
- Le Diane – a Michelin star restaurant featuring the traditional French cuisine of Chef Jean-Yves Leuranguer.
- Le Petite Maison de Nicole – offering Mediterranean flavors.
- Le Café Fouquet’s – the famous terrace restaurant on the Champs-Élysées serving lighter fare, hand-made patisseries and ice-creams.
- La Galerie Joy – a tea house serving light gourmet fare.
Plus, the hotel offers three bars with each offering a different ambiance and experience.
The U Spa Barriére Shiseido
The Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière is Paris’ leading luxury Spa hotel. So after a day of sightseeing, shopping, and walking about the town, you’ll enjoy a little world class pampering from the spa offering Japanese treatments dating back over 140 years.
###
I learned a long time ago that you can have the best products in the world, but if you don’t have the service to back it up, then the whole thing collapses. Well, the other thing you are certain to notice with the Hotel Fouquet’s Barriére is an amazing staff.
Each room comes with the services of a butler on call 24/7, and we found the desk staff to be absolutely amazing. For example, my luggage was lost by the airlines for three days, and the concierge hounded the airlines until I finally got my luggage. It was so nice that they would take care of this problem so that we might go out and enjoy the sights of Paris. World-class, indeed!
While Carol and I certainly enjoy the magnificent luxury of staying in a palace hotel, or any number of the fabulous properties we’ve enjoyed over the years, we also greatly enjoy the smaller boutique hotels. And in our opinion, with the location of this hotel, the fun ambiance found everywhere, and the amazing customer service, we’d definitely recommend a stay at the Hotel Fouquet’s Barriére. In fact, we have dear friend headed to Paris in a few weeks, and we’re recommending that the gals stay at this hotel whilst they guys are out traveling the countryside by motorcycle.

Nice review! Have you tried the tea time there? It is quite nice. Also, the terrace is quiet and nice. Then the location could hardly be better…
