As a travel photographer, I never know what might catch my eye and have my shutter clicking. Our tour guide and driver were zipping us back to our hotel as we whisked past this scene. I grabbed for my camera, rolled the window down, stuck my camera out the window, and clicked.
The Montevideo Harbor is a pretty busy place, and I have absolutely no idea why this old ship was seemingly abandoned and left to rust very near the shore. Perhaps it has some historical significance, or perhaps it’s a remnant of Uruguay’s storied dictatorship from the 70s and 80s.
What ever this rusty lady’s story might be, she caught my eye, and now I’ve immortalized her for decades to come. Even though she’s sorely dilapidated, she’s beautiful to me.

As I often say, there is a beauty in decay as well. And this rusty ship looks amazing!
There’s a lot of history, soul, aesthetics in this rusty old ship.
The photo of it is great.
Love the light! Excellent photo.
