Shoppers on New York City’s 5th Avenue
I always wondered what it would be like flowing in throngs of shoppers on crowded New York City streets. With all of the skyscrapers above our heads, it was easy to feel a bit like an ant carrying a tasty morsel back to the queen’s nest.
Depending on the ever-changing economies, New York City’s 5th Avenue is considered to be the most expensive shopping district in the world.
As a photographer, I was pleased when the street took a dip so that I might better share with you the numbers of people we were sharing the street with.
Closing my eyes, I could hear horns honking, people laughing, jackhammers, sirens, traffic, planes above, flags flapping in the breeze, and you could actually feel the excitement of the city.
While certainly not a tranquil sunlit beach, New York City has it’s own unique appeal, and we’re having a blast.
In this scene, we were walking to the Empire State Building. Carol has plans to head back and actually go into the 5th avenue stores. ACK!
