Sun-Kissed Oslo: Summer Daylight Hours
Sun-Kissed Oslo: Summer Daylight Hours
It is July 3rd, and Carol and I are in Oslo, Norway.
We look forward to exploring Oslo for a few days before heading to the northernmost tip of Norway to board our Lindblad/National Geographic expedition ship bound for Longyearbyen, Norway: the world’s northernmost city.
When you visit Oslo in the summer months, you will notice that the daylight hours are very long.
And if you consider the twilight hours (see the chart above), you will quickly learn that it is never night in Oslo in the middle of the summer.
We went to bed at 10:00 last night and looking out the window of our hotel room, it seemed primarily dark, but when I got up at 2:30 to use the bathroom, it was pretty light outside. The light was bleeding around the corners of our drapes, and I thought I had slept the whole night through. I was surprised to learn that it was, in fact, 2:30 in the morning.
Travel Tip: Bring a sleep mask when you visit Norway in the summer months.
