I shot this on Hawaii, the Big Island.

These two chairs were perched on a little peninsula of black lava hovering about 25 feet above the ocean.  Each morning, you could witness folks frantically vying for this prime spot on the beach.  It brought a smile to my face as I witnessed this daily display of human behavior.

When I’m out on a photo shoot, I am always looking for ways to bring human emotion into my photographs.  Here, the man is captured by the beautiful scene in a quiet trance, while his wife is busily trying to get the cap off of her bottle of sunscreen.

The temperature was a perfect 80 degrees.  There were no clouds in the skies.  If you closed your eyes, you were immediately transported to a very still place as the gentle ocean breeze caressed your face.
