Travel Photo: Morning Stroll at Ritz-Carlton Kapalua, Maui

We arrived at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua on the island of Maui in Hawaii last night after sunset. As you would expect from a Ritz-Carlton, the property is absolutely gorgeous (more on that later).
And while the Ritz-Carlton is in the business of providing luxury resort accommodations to world travelers, perhaps the characteristic most important to baby boomer travelers is where they put these world-class resorts.
Hawaii’s island of Maui is very popular with world travelers, as evidenced by 30% of Hawaii’s 682,000 visitors in January 2013 making their way to this particular island paradise. And, as providence would have it, our beautiful Residential Suite at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua sits ocean-front on the beautiful northwest shore of Maui.
As our internal time-clocks were still operating on Mountain Standard Time, we found ourselves up before most of the resort’s guests, and decided to take an early morning walk on the resort’s beach.
During our walk, we found that the ocean breeze, the crashing of the waves, the beautiful mountainous backdrop, and the damp sand between our toes took us both to a very quiet place in our souls.
It was as if we had walked upon very sacred ground and God was whispering from above, “I created these islands for you to enjoy and to know that I am here”.
We’re looking forward to many more restorative experiences, and we are thankful to be spending the next three days with the fine folks at the Ritz-Carlton Kapalua.
Stay tuned…

I recognized that beach right away…that is where my husband and I were married 9 years ago! Maui is the best!
Jane,
How cool is that! We’re happy to bring a special memory your way. 🙂
